Karl Lagerfeld, born in 1938 in Hamburg, applies himself – apart from fashion – since many years to photography. In 1996 he received the Culture Award of the German Photographic Society. Though his work is shown in many museums, the essential part of it discloses itself through books which Lagerfeld conceives and designs himself.
